What is YOUth Vibes?
YOUth Vibes is a 5-year-project under the NVAC Special Project arm, aimed to provide a platform for youths to share and benefit through collective intelligence, define their generation, and promote creativity, initiatives as well as social responsibility. It's an unconference which adopts Open Space Technology such that the youths from different educational paths will be the co-host of the event. The discussions the youths have throughout the 5 years will be documented and hopefully the documentations can be reverted to the society in one way or another. With the support of MYMCA, we believe that YOUth Vibes will be better tailored for the youths in Singapore.

What is Genesis?
As the theme of this year "Genesis" suggests, it marks the start of the 5-year project. The immediate aim of Genesis is to set the stage for the subsequent years by first introducing the idea of open discussions about a broad range of topics, and establishing a network of contacts to the participants. The model of the discussions this year adopts both World Café and Open Space Concept. The facilitators will be a blend of youth and experts in different fields. It helps increase youth's awareness of services and resources available for them to realize their ideas.
To spice up the event, we are inviting a few young people who have succeeded in making their dreams come true to inspire and share their journey with the participants.
We then hope to obtain feedback from the participants themselves on how we can further enhance the conduct of the event. We will also be opening for recruitment of our next committee, to take on the planning for next year's YOUth Vibes event.
So, what's all the hype about YV?
Why get youth together to "discuss" stuff?
Besides the uncountable possible outcomes that could result from a group of young and energized people getting together to talk about issues, the YV team will also be keeping a record of the discussions, and these will be made available to organisations, NGOs, and maybe even the relevant ministries. YV will be happening every year for the next 5 years, and we hope to establish some trends and changes among youth within this time span. The possibilities are unpredictable!! Maybe we'll publish a book??! No kidding.
Your voice is going to be heard... in one way or another. So be there, and make sure your opinions and concerns are aired. Brainstorm, question, debate, examine, reflect, consult, toss it around and trash it out!!
